@thomasfuchs Of switches still being manufactured, Matias’ Quiet Click switches take the crown for me, especially the recent iterations. Not noisy, but the tactileness is just right. Second place would probably go to Cherry Clears.

Still more interested in making a single-person lightweight fediverse server than in actually using social media in any way, tbh

Oh right this thing still exists. Hi.

Drink Canada Dry! You might not succeed, but it *__is* fun trying.

Translation, succ makes things bigger.

Hello everyone I'd like to introduce the new @ambassador from a.weirder.earth

This is my attempt to fix the followbot problem. If you're an instance admin, you can install an ambassador bot on your instance.

The bot will boost the most popular toots from your instance. Someone can follow your ambassador to have your instance's best content added to their federated feed.

Feedback welcome, code here: github.com/mbilokonsky/ambassador

I wrote an article about some of the protocols underneath StatusNet, and I plan to write more in the near future.

fknsrs.biz/blog/don-statusnet-

@KindlyFire hah. I'll be honest, JavaScript makes me break out in hives. Was thinking just golang for backend (reasonable-to-good performance, sane-ish language, deployability can't be beat [you can build a binary with no dependencies except libc and drop it on a system]), and probably elm for web frontend. But it'll be a few weeks before I start at any rate, too busy at the moment.

@KindlyFire well, the basics. shitposting, reading other people's shitposts, replying to their shitposts, &c. but I to be fair it's not like I do much of any of that on birdsite either.

says something, I guess, that I'm more interested in actually implementing a (single user, not rails, not AGPL) ostatus server than actually _using_ any social media

@live if the english & french versions are the same thing they're really missing a trick

@b_cavello @TDW_Jake shitposting isn't a problem shitposting is the solution

something that would be nice/expensive for non-personal instances, probably: ability for users to block _their_ interaction with an entire server.
